The Pianist
A true story of music, love and survival featuring Kyla Render with Annette Eastwood on piano. Dramatized and directed by Graham Crutchley.

7:00 – 8:15PM REPS MAIN - THE STANDARD THEATRE ($15)
OPENING CONCERT - PORTUGUESE MUSIC STARS HMB COLLABORATING WITH AFRIKERA
Presented by the Embassy of Portugal
HMB are a very cool Portuguese band; Heber Marques voice, Joel Silva on drums, Daniel Lima on keyboards, Fred Martin on guitar and Joel Xavier on bass deliver a great mix of soul, gospel and R&B styles. Artists including Al Green and Bill Withers as well as D'Angelo and Erykah Badu are some of the references that inspire the sound of the band. Exuberant Afrikera dancers join the band for this collaborative celebration.

Satire and humour mix in the first of 3 different programmes of local and South African comedy talent, co-ordinated by Carl Joshua Ncube. Stand up performances, short open mic slots, WOMEN IN COMEDY section and overall, a highly entertaining mixed programme of resident and visiting comedians; prepare for sidesplitting topical hilarity….

A rainy day in Dublin. A jaded supermarket employee rips a boycott sticker off a bottle of olive oil. And the Palestinian olive tree of history comes to life before her... A magic realist journey into the stories and struggles of Palestine, past, present and future.

The Olive Tree is a new play written and performed by Katie O’Kelly (Stage UK nominee for Best Solo Performer, Edinburgh Fringe 2012). (NU16)
