Sonic Slam Chorus

Sonic Slam Chorus boasts a global cast of highly talented individuals from Norway, Zimbabwe, Botswana and the United Kingdom. The group has grown to include drummer Thom Durrant (UK) who has performed with the London Philharmonic Orchestra, bassist from the group Strobe Circus, James Duff, (UK) and guitarist Are Lothe Kolbeinsen (Norway).

This genre-busting ensemble fuses contemporary sounds with influences of Nordic Jazz and Spoken Word through delicately crafted compositions to create a truly unique sound. The group features outstanding saxophonist Vimbai Mukarati (Zim), the angelic tones of vocalist Prudence Katomene (Zim), the artistry of composer, vocalist and instrumentalist Cecilie Giskemo (Norway) and acclaimed poets TJ Dema (Bots) and Dikson (Zim).

The group promises to light up the festival that played host to their debut outing in 2011 with a concert not to be missed.
